For over 25 years, Denise has dedicated her life to supporting others in traditional helping fields — as a support worker and as a peer professional alongside some of the largest mental health organizations in Canada.
Helping others has always been Denise’s passion, but as time passed, she found herself at a crossroads. She describes a series of life events that forced her to slow down, reflect, and prioritize something she had often placed last—her own well-being.
Through this period of deep self-discovery, she realized that while her work in traditional roles was meaningful, it was not where she could do her best work. She had long been drawn to alternative healing modalities and had trained in them earlier in life, but circumstances had prevented Denise from fully embracing her path. Now, with the opportunity to put her wellness first, she has stepped into alignment with her true calling—guiding others on their healing journey.
As a Registered Reiki Practitioner (CRA), Business & Life Coach (CTI), and Certified Peer Support Worker (PSC, CACCF), Denise brings a holistic approach to healing. She is furthering her practice by studying to become a Certified Trauma Integration Practitioner and a Sound Healing Practitioner. Denise is also studying with the Foundation for Shamnic Studies, learning to guide others through journeying.
These experiences, both personal and professional, have shaped Denise’s unique ability to walk beside you as you navigate your own journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation.
“At Blue Lotus Healing, I am honoured to share the knowledge and tools that have empowered me, helping others reclaim balance, restore energy, and awaken their highest potential. Healing is not just a profession—it is a way of life, and I am grateful to offer a space where others can find the same clarity and renewal that I have.”

Shamanic Practitioner, Ongoing
Foundation for Shamanic Studies
The Way of the Shaman® is the foundational workshop offered by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS), introducing participants to Core Shamanism—a universal methodology for entering non-ordinary reality for problem-solving and healing. This two-day, in-person experiential workshop is taught by authorized FSS faculty, including Catherine Hughes, who leads sessions across Ontario and Atlantic.
Shamanism and the Spirits of Nature™, taught by Catherine Hughes of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS), is a powerful experiential workshop that helps students reconnect with the living spirit in all things—trees, animals, weather, stones, and the land itself. Through guided shamanic journeying, nature connection practices, and Earth-honouring rituals, you'll learn how to communicate with the spirits of nature for guidance, healing, and balance. This course is ideal for those who feel called to deepen their relationship with the natural world and step into a more sacred, reciprocal way of living.
Death, Dying & Beyond™, taught by Catherine Hughes of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS), a training that explores shamanic perspectives on the journey of the soul after death. This course offered profound experiential practices to work with psychopomp methods (guiding souls to the afterlife), deepen my understanding of the dying process, and cultivate spiritual skills for supporting both the living and the dead. It strengthened my ability to hold compassionate space for those in transition, while expanding my perspective on the continuity of consciousness and the soul’s path beyond this life.

Denise is Registered through the Canadian Reiki Association. Member # 25-052.
The Reiki Level III & Master Training through TheMode School, which provided advanced techniques and a deeper spiritual immersion into the Usui Reiki tradition. This training refined my ability to channel Reiki energy with greater sensitivity and power, introduced advanced symbols and practices, and prepared me to attune and teach others. The course emphasized trauma-informed and somatic approaches, ensuring that Reiki is shared in a way that is safe, grounded, and empowering. Through this Master level training, I stepped fully into the role of both practitioner and teacher, committed to guiding others on their Reiki journey while continuing to expand my own. I am working towards my Master’s registration through the Canadian Reiki Association for the next year.
